Support Organization for Watershed Development Program
Over these years, AFARMs involvement is remained in all stages of Project Cycle of Watershed Program as summarized below.
Project Planning :

AFARM through its multidisciplinary team   has prepared more than 60 Integrated Watershed development (WSD) action plans, amounting to Rs. 12 Crore covering more than 20000 ha watershed area for NGOs. These projects were financially supported by KFW Germany- NABARD, CAPART, GoM ( Jalsandharan & Adarsh Goan Yojana), E.U. through Christain Aid  U.K. Corporate Agencies & Foreign Funding Agencies.

 
Project Implementation :

The Watershed Development Program is implemented by AFARM during 1992-2001 through 28 small grass root organizations & CBOs on 8312 ha of land, of 28 villages of drought prone region; benefiting 2930 families covered 17371 rural populations. The day to day implementation of the activities was done by participating organizations with regular field support, guidance, and supervision by AFARM Multidisciplinary Team.  The program was aimed at capacity building of small & inexperienced organization to implement large scale watershed programs. The program was finically supported by E.U. through Christain Aid. U.K.

Project Monitoring :
  • The Ministry of Rural Development ( MoRD), GoI has selected AFARM, as District Level Monitoring Agency (DLM Agency) for Monitoring of various rural development programs/schemes of MoRD including Watershed Development program viz. DPAP, IWDP & Hariyali. AFARM is involved in the said task since 2001, and monitored the implementation OF Watershed programs in 14 districts (Namely Yeotmal, Akola, Amaravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Hingoli, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Kolhapur, Nandurbar, Raigad, Ahemadnagar & Pune) of Maharashtra state. The monitoring work was done in these districts at least for one year period.
  • AFARM has provided field support & Monitored the implementation of Watershed Development projects of 28 NGOs in Maharashtra. The project was supported by E.U. through Christain Aid U.K.
  • As Mother NGO, AFARM has provided field support & monitored the implementation of centrally aided DPAP & IWDP projects of NGOs as well as Govt. PIAs in Satara & Sangali districts of Maharashtra state.
