Considering the AFARMs contribution in the said field AFARM was recognized as “Sendriya Sheti Mitra VA Margadarshak Sanstha” for two districts of the State Latur & Pune. AFARM as a “Sendriya Sheti Mitra VA Margadarshak Sanstha”with the assistance of the grass root level VO’s formed 40 Farmers Clubs in Latur district enrolling 100 farmers in each club.
In order to strengthen the groups and enrich their knowledge and skills, variety of programs were initiated and executed such as trainings, workshops, Exposure tours, film shows, lecture series and generation of study material. Presently more than 4000 farmers are regularly practicing organic farming on 6000 ha of land. Technical guidance & assistance in field of procuring outlets for the organic farming products is been done by AFARM.
With the initiative & support of AFARM the Forum of Organic Cultivators has been formed in the year 2004. Presently 220 individuals & organizations are members of this forum. Since 2004, every forth Sunday, the monthly meeting of forum took place. These meeting always followed by lecture / orientation by experts of forum members on common interest subject. This is the typical feature of this forum.
